Being a serial/multiple hobbyist means I often have to weigh how much I want to invest into a particular hobby, and for my “collection” hobbies, this can come with a cost of “missed opportunity” per se. I highly recommend checking it out if your a maker, tinkerer, fixer, or just interested in technology or mechanics. Maker Faires are not limited to computers, electronics, and other “nerdy” activities, they’re all about making, which includes things like clothing, jewelry, glass blowing, knife making (iron works), food, snacks, and any other “making” activity.
Note that parking for the event is a couple blocks away from the event itself, and there are free shuttle buses available that take you back and forth.

Sperry / Univac and Mapper Memorabilia
My last post mentioned that along with the Sperry Uniscope terminal, I found a bunch of Sperry, Univac, and “Mapper” ephemera (stickers, magnets, etc) around it. Apparently the previous owner was a Univac employee and worked with the “Mapper” software, which is still available today from Unisys as “BIS”.

Finally Did some Wrenching
With the weather getting nicer (not as hot) and not having to travel just yet, I finally have some opportunity to do some wrenching. It seems my project cars never get any love, over the easier, “hands not as dirty” nerdy things, but I still love spinning a wrench from time to time.

As always life gets busy and I haven’t updated in a bit, so I figured I’d get something posted up. Life has been crazy busy lately, with a bunch of traveling mixed in with a bunch of working, lol.
