Covid-Induced Heart Attack

(Continued)

The next day I had another telehealth appointment, and asked to get checked out. Doc agreed to get a chest xray done. Called the hospital right away and they had an opening. GREAT! Wrapped up some things at work, and jumped into the shower before heading over…

…and then it happened; my chest suddenly felt like the jolly green giant was gripping me like an action figure, combined with heartburn x1000. I got out, got dressed, and gave Pixel (my cat) a hug, and drove myself to the nearest hospital (thankfully minutes away) and ran to the ER.

After a couple quick tests, I was suddenly getting whisked into a different room with a bunch of people, and before I knew it, I was watching a blood clot being cleared from my heart.

4 days in the hospital included non-stop tests, an IV stand that belongs in the trash, and rooms that did not really provide much comfort. Walking out of the hospital under my own power, while definitely a challenge, felt so freeing.

“Covid induced heart attack”

You’re actually pretty healthy!” “You’re also not the first one to show up with this.” I heard a lot of things. Seems this was purely “bad luck” and caused by clotting from covid.

So since I’ve been home a few days, every day I’m feeling a little better. I do think I have side effects from the meds, and I have a bruise that extends my entire right calf from waiste to knee. It..doesnt feel good. My leg is…weird. I can walk…painfully slow, but HEY I can walk!

My heads all over the place. I just want to feel normal again, and doc says I will. Just have to wait things out.

Anyway, I hated to post a couple debbie downer personal posts, but actually, I am GRATEFUL for all the doctors, nurses, staff, and everybody else at Einstein Hospital that kept me on the green side of the grass.

As for covid..wear the damn masks. This isn’t over. I had ZERO signs anything was wrong, until it was. That’s just one of many scary parts of all this.

Ps – I still want a vacation.
