Life goes on during a Pandemic

Another thing that’s been new for me, has been having a lot more patience and focus (to some degree), and being able to take care of what I have a lot better than I had before, instead of constantly running around. The downside is…taking care of stuff is a LOT of work!

Always good to hose down your kayak after going to a different body of water than you usually do.

We’re really blessed with some awesome parks here in PA, especially having so many close by to be able to explore and kayak. I’m frankly surprised I didn’t get a kayak sooner, had I known what was around. French Creek wasn’t too far away, yet felt like a trip to another state.

Last weekend, a lot more places were opened up, and I figured I’d jump while the gettin’ was good to finally get a haircut, and lose nearly 12 inches of hair in the process. With all the hot days, I was over it and honestly having long hair was more of a novelty than actually going for a look.

Lately the weather’s been pretty hot and humid, so not much motorcycle riding to report, although I am chomping at the bit and may go out again soon, even if I sweat to death.

Finally, thanks to our friends Ryan and Melissa we were able to enjoy some local Fireworks, and even the drive over produced fireworks display at every parking lot and open field on the way.

Thoughts…

You don’t have to look far to know things have been crazy in the world lately. Lots of pent up energy from people being homebound and out of work is creating a lot of “civil unrest”, with Philadelphia being no exception. It’s really odd to think that for someone who visited Center City almost once a week on average, I literally have not been anywhere near the city in…months!

While definitely having some “stir crazy” moments, I feel like I’ve managed things well with being at home. I also think I’ve been wanting, perhaps NEEDING a break from my constant on-the-go lifestyle and long commutes. I’m certainly not complaining, although I do really miss going out to places. I’ve also been eating at home more often, and find that I don’t mind, although being able to order in is now more of a treat as opposed to business as usual. Funny how that works!

I’ve also found a ton of time to finally be able to sort through a ton of crap and working on getting my life reorganized. It’s interesting how hard it is to sort stuff out, and how easy it is to make an utter mess again, so I”m trying my best to keep things together 😉

Also as an interesting side note, I’ve barely bought…anything…during all this. Even now with thrift shops and most other stores reopened, I found I just don’t have the desire to bring on anything else right now. I have enough toys to keep me busy.

That’s it for now, sorry for the boring personal blog post but figured I’d fill in some of my other categories on here.

I hope everybody stays happy, healthy, wealthy, and wise! Be safe!
